Restoring dignity and promoting wellness through access to essential personal care items
Join Our MissionBeloved's Closet Foundation exists to restore dignity, promote wellness, and enhance the quality of life for underserved individuals and families by providing access to essential personal care items.
We are committed to bridging the gap for those experiencing hardship, ensuring that no one has to go without the basic necessities that support health, self-worth, and hope.
Understanding the crisis we're addressing
Lack of access to hygiene products leads to preventable illnesses, infections, and skin conditions, particularly among children, seniors, and unhoused individuals.
Students facing hygiene poverty often skip school due to embarrassment or discomfort, contributing to chronic absenteeism and diminished academic performance.
Job seekers may be overlooked for employment due to visible hygiene challenges, leading to a cycle of poverty and economic instability.
Hygiene poverty fosters shame, low self-esteem, depression, and social withdrawal, especially severe among teenagers and young adults.
Women, single parents, homeless individuals, low-income seniors, and people of color are disproportionately affected by hygiene poverty.
Hygiene items are not covered by SNAP or WIC benefits, forcing families to choose between food, rent, and basic personal dignity.
We lead with empathy and kindness, recognizing the humanity and worth of every individual we serve.
We believe that access to personal care is a basic human right and a vital part of one's dignity and self-esteem.
We prioritize those most vulnerable in our community, advocating for fair and inclusive access to hygiene resources.
We operate with transparency, honesty, and a deep sense of responsibility in all that we do.
We build partnerships with individuals, organizations, and communities to expand our reach and impact.
